Department Histopathology 

Shift Day Monday - Friday 8am - 430pm with rotating 1 out of 8 Saturday 5am - 130pm 

Preferred Experience ASCP certified HT or HTL with at least 2 yrs of hospital experience Must have embedded and cutting biopsy and routine/cancer cases experience. LIS Roche Benchmark Dermapath experience is highly desired.

Job Summary

The Histotechnician 2 prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation and diagnosis. They perform technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations. Operates and maintains laboratory instruments, records, and documentation with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions of the Role

• Perform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations.
• Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory practices and technical skills to others.

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -

ASCP-Histotechnician (ASCP-HT)
